Footage aired on the Nine Network on Monday night (MAY 7) showed police surrounding the man on the ground after he was captured in a pursuit.

An officer then appears to kick the man in the head.

Victoria Police says the video has been referred to the Independent Broad-based Anti-corruption Commission. (IBAC)

It comes a month after two separate incidents of alleged police violence, including one where a disability pensioner appeared to be pinned down and beaten.
