2016 was the year many women from around the globe made the news headlines starting from Teresa May and ending with Christine Lagard.
Arab women were also present in the news headlines in 2016 and we all remember Hana Al Hroub, the Palestinian school teacher chosen as the best teacher in the world for 2016.
Other inspiring women were Yousra Mardini who represented the Refugee Olympic team in swimming and Ohoud Al-Roumi the first Minister for Happiness in the world chosen in the UAE.
