File image of lightning storm in central Victoria in 2015.

A Brisbane man suffered an electric shock while taking a shower when lightning struck near his home during a powerful storm in Queensland's south-east. He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Meanwhile, up to 100-thousand homes are still without power after the storm with winds of up to 100 kilometres per hour caused blackouts across the Brisbane area. The cities of Logan (LOH-gan) and Brisbane were most affected, and authorities say a number of schools have been affected and some may be closed today (mon)
