Settlement Services International is committed to increase the number of affordable homes in Sydney.
It has partnered with with several developers of modular secondary dwellings (granny flats) that can be built on properties with existing homes under the NSW State Environmental Planning Policy (Affordable Rental Housing) 2009.
The Housing Service of SSI calls on community members to visit this new home initiative site between 27 June and 18 July 2017.
On the other hand, SSI representatives were among Sydney Alliance supporters who recently met with Planning Minister Anthony Roberts to take serious action to address the housing costs crisis which facing residents of Sydney.
Their last meeting with Minister Roberts came after three years of campaigning.
The meeting was an opportunity for the Sydney Alliance to present real stories about the impact of this crisis on people's lives.
300 people attended the meeting, including housing expert in Britain and Australia, Professor Bill Randolph.
