Australians are expected to spend nearly 2.5 billion dollars in today's (tue 26 dec) Boxing Day sales. Some people were waiting outside stores when they opened at 5am in anticipation of buying goods at bargain prices. And some are expecting Australians to spend almost 16 billion dollars between Boxing Day and the 15th of January. Chief Executive of the National Retail Assocation, Dominique Lamb, says current economic conditions in Australia are conducive to savvy consumer spending.
