Christian Porter will be Australia's next Attorney-General, taking over from George Brandis as part of a federal cabinet reshuffle. Mr Porter's Social Services portfolio will be handed to Victorian Dan Tehan, while Michaelia Cash will become Minister for Jobs and Innovation, with her Minister for Women role to be filled by Kelly O'Dwyer. Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce will vacate his agriculture portfolio and pick up transport and infrastructure from his Nationals colleague Darren Chester, who will not return. An additional five new members will join the cabinet, while Arthur Sinodinos will also not return due to ill health. Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has thanked Senator Brandis, who he will recommend for the position of High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, for his service.
