Same-sex weddings could occur in Australia as early as next month after legislation legalising the practice passed federal parliament. The legislation is expected to be signed into law today (fri) by the Governor-General. Mr Turnbull says, whilst the Labor Party voted for same-sex marriage, and the success of the legislation belongs to all of Australia, the Labor Party did nothing to help the issue when they were in power. He also says they've played politics with the issue by opposing the plebiscite that was held.
