The banking royal commission has heard several National Australia Bank (NAB) staff took cash from introducers working at gyms and tailors for fraudulent loans. Introducers are people working outside banks who are paid for successful lending referrals. An investigation by the N-A-B revealed several of its bankers also created false documents and accepted cash payments from introducers in January 2016. The introducers were paid commissions totalling $630,000 over four years, of which $488,000 went to one person.
