The federal government says gang crime in Victoria is out of control following several violent incidents in recent weeks. There have been calls for more Australian Federal Police officers to deal with the issue of youth gangs in Melbourne suburbs. Victoria Police have denied youth crime is associated with any particular ethnic group. Speaking in Bondi, Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull says police lack the political leadership to deal effectively with the issue.
