A 43-year-old Melbourne man has appeared in court facing terrorism-related charges after he was arrested in raids on his home in the city's south-east.

Victoria Police say invalid pensioner Isa Kocoglu gave about $5000 through a website to a 33-year-old US citizen fighting for Islamic State in Syria.
He's been charged with supporting persons engaged in the Syrian conflict.
Commander John Beveridge, of the Australian Federal Police, says the 16-month investigation was conducted by the Joint Counter Terrorism Team made up of Victoria Police, the A-F-P and ASIO .
