On June 2 the German Parliament was almost unanimous in its decision that the killings of at least 1.5 million Armenians by Ottoman Turks in 1915 constituted genocide. One of the German eye-witnesses was soldier Armin Wegner who documented the brutal treatment of Armenian civilians and took most of the known photos of the genocide. In 2001 SBS Armenian interviewed Armin's son Mischa Wegner from Italy.
