In 2025, SBS Radio celebrated its 50th anniversary. This year, in 2026, we will celebrate the 50th anniversary of SBS Armenian. In June 1976, Mr. Stepan Krkyasharian made the first broadcast from the then 2EA station, and later Madiana Ivanian joined him and continued the broadcasts.
In the coming weeks and months, we will celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of our founding by taking a look back at the past fifty years and presenting to you interviews and reports preserved in our archives.
We will start the broadcast with individuals who, through their participation, have contributed to our programs, the preservation of our culture and language, and who are no longer with us.
Vahe Oshagan (1922 – 2000), with his literary talks, has contributed to our programs for many years. The first program that I chose for today was broadcast from our radio station 30 years ago in January 1996 and examined the unique literary connections between Armenians and Syrians.
