Mina's journey to success was not handed to her in a silver spoon, but she had to fight for it by determination, focus and hard work. As a young refugee who arrived in Australia with her family, Mina faced many challenges, new country, new language, new culture. But at the same time, Mina saw her new country welcoming her with open arms and giving her every opportunity to do what she likes. With the help and sacrifices that her parents endure to make sure she completes her studies, Mina fulfilled their wishes, and now she is a pride to them and whole community in Melbourne.

Miss Kiryo will study Bachelor of Biomedicine. When asked why this field of study? Mina said she never thought of it before. But due to the pandemic and seeing the sufferings, death and lockdowns, which affected people both mentally and economically, she wanted to go into medicine and research, hoping she will contribute to find cures for disease and pandemics such as COVID-19.
