The secretary of the Iraqi Women's League, Mrs. Shamiram Odisho said “Iraqi women have proved to be strong and responsible in their participation in peaceful demonstrations”. She stressed that there are women present in the media, in medical support and as artists, beautifying Baghdad streets and Tahrir square with murals and paintings. She added that there are dozens of tents in the yards of the demonstrations, which represent the various institutions and civil organisations providing cultural activities for the bright faced Iraqi people.
