Federal budget analysed and explained live

SBS Assyrian conducted a live discussion with experts in economy and politics to outline and further explains the federal budget after it was released on the 6th of October by the treasurer, Josh Frydenberg.

The discussion panel included Mr. Peter Esho who is an entrepreneur and real estate investor and Mr. Zaya Toma who served as a councillor in Fairfield City Council in the past.

A third guest was on the list to join the panel, However, Mr. Joseph Haweil, who is an incumbent councillor from Melbourne serving the people of Hume City Council, had a clashing schedule with the timing of the live discussion, therefore, he had to apologise from attending. 

The meeting was moderated by the SBS Assyrian team.

Started at :9:15 pm, the live discussion analysed and explained several important topics in the budget.

The topics discussed included welfare, tax cuts, national debt, investments and interest rates, and assistance provided to Australian businesses.

 The objective of such activity was to inform the members of the Assyrian community about all aspects of the budget as well as how it will affect their lives and businesses.
