Mesopotamian Fusion, a journey between two worlds

Ilona Danho is a Syriac artist born in Syria. She is proving herself to be a great singer with her warm voice and wonderful performances taking the old songs and infusing them into modern classic and jazz .

SBS Assyrian had the chance to discuss with Ilona her singing career and her love to her nation Assyrian Syriac Chaldean.

Ilona studied music and singing for five years at the conservatorium of music in Damascus -Syria. She then studied three more years music in France,  then she had her master degree in music from the Royal conservatorium in Bruxelles-Belgium.

Due to the war in Syria, Ilona went to Sweden and there she met some of her friend from university students who were also from Syria and met a duduk player from Armenia and some musicians from Sweden. Ilona decided to form a group called Mesopotamian Fusion.
