A one week hunger strike will take place at Fairfield to raise awareness of our people in the diaspora about the sufferings of our nation particularly in Iraq, Syria and Turkey. Mr Shlemon Rahawi from Bet Nahrain National Council is one of the organisers and participants in this hunger strike. He told SBS that these strikes have been very effective when done in Europe and he hopes it will have the same impact in Australia.
