To find out more about this discovery, our correspondent, Nassim Sadiq, met with Ivan Jani, a professor at Soran University, who confirmed that some elderly people reported that two villages were inhabited by the Assyrians long ago, but the area needs studies and research.
He said that these finds were discovered by a farmer who was plowing his land to cultivate it and told the authorities about it.
Mr. Jani said that we, as an indigenous people, must not allow anyone to falsify history, and I invite officials and our representatives in Parliament to take action and express an opinion and attitude towards what is distorted.
He added, "We have not heard any opinion from any of them about this discovery."
Prof. Jani confirmed that the district antiquities officials confirmed that they are ready to assist in studying and documenting in an academic scientific manner these urns.
