Australian director, actor win at Venice Film Festival

Australians have taken home two of the major awards at the Venice Film Festival. Director Jennifer Kent and Indigenous actor Baykali Ganambarr have each won a prize for Kent's film The Nightingale. The festival's top "Golden Lion" award went to Oscar-winning director Alfonso Cuaron's film Roma, bringing Netflix its first major festival honour.
