Government hosts Yale professor's launch of book on the world's first empire

The Hon. Chris Bowen MP is hosting a special presentation to explore the new book of well-known Assyriologist, Eckart Frahm. His book, entitled 'Assyria: The Rise and Fall of the World’s First Empire' will be discussed at the Eden Gardens reception. Hermiz Shahen is going.


Eckart Frahm is a professor of Assyriology in the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilisations at Yale University.

One of the world's foremost experts on the Assyrian Empire, he is the author or co-author of six books on ancient Mesopotamian history and culture.

He lives in New Haven, Connecticut. The event is free and open to everyone by registration.
