What is GDP or Gross Domestic Product, how is it calculated and what impact does it have on recession ?
These are questions put to economy expert and entrepreneur Peter Esho Co-Founder of Wealthi.
Peter's background is in investment management and real estate investment. Prior to Co-Founding Wealthi, Peter worked with Morningstar Inc and Invast Global.
Mr Esho explains in a simple way, the GDP during the pandemic. He says "GDP is like a cake that is divided into four pieces, each piece represent one part of the economy".
He says, if the GDP is in minus in two consecutive quartes, then the country is in recession. But if one quarter is in minus and the next one is in plus even with 0.1 percent, then it will not be considered a recession.
