The arrest of many prominent figures in the Jordanian governing circle and the restrictions imposed on Prince Hamza ben Hussain, half-brother of King Abdallah II, are prompted by a fear of the attempt of a coup d'état. This event created a worldwide condemnation for the plot and support for King Abdallah II's rule.
Our international affairs correspondent Roland Bidzhamov reports on the development of the event and gives a brief historical explanation about the Jordanian Royal family.
Mr Bidzhamove says "many political analysts believe that this plot might be orchestrated by King Abdallah II himself, to make sure that his son Prince Hussein, remains the Crown Prince without any opposition."
