In this interview Mr. David David, President of the Assyrian Australian National Federation (AANF) speaks of how our community has been commemorating this day since 1968. It acknowledges the sacrifice of all Assyrians killed since World War I, including those killed in the Simele and Soriya massacres, and Assyrians dying to this day in Syria and Iraq.
The AANF are working on communicating our nations tragedy to Australian organizations and Members of Parliament.
They are also engaging young people to participate in this celebration to encourage awareness of the importance of this day for our community.
