Since his appointment as a mayor of Humes in Melbourne almost a year ago, Cr Joseph Haweil have been busy with COVID-19 lockdowns in Melbourne


The Mayor of the city of Hume Cr Joseph Haweil told SBS he feels for the people of Sydney and understands their frustration because of the lockdown as Melbournians went through the ordeal in six times.

Mayor Haweil also talked about the importance of people getting vaccinated as soon as they can to avoid infection.

Mayor Haweil said he likes the idea of the NSW government initiative of translating updates and coronavirus information in many languages. He said he will discuss the matter with officials in the Victorian government to implement same measures in his state
