Many members of the Assyrian community in Fairfield, were waiting anxiously for the return of the Assyrian Resource Cenrte back to work. The centre plays a vital role in serving the needs of the community in matters relating to immigration, visas, sponsorship, teaching, citizenship workshops, and many other services

"The start of 2021 for the Assyrian resource centre is a good one", says Carmin Lazar, manager of the centre.

She added that the Assyrian resource centre received a grant from the government to conduct tutoring classes for primary and secondary school students.

Due to COVID -19 social distancing, the space at the centre was inadequate, Mrs Lazar said.

The Assyrian resource centre contacted the Assyrian church of the East and asked if the classes can be run at St. Marys church Hall at Polding Street, Fairfield.

The green light was granted, and now the classes will be held at the churches hall.
