Councillor Joseph Haweil, from Hume City Council in Melbourne, said the authorities are urging people in hotspots to conduct a test. He added:” I participated as a volunteer with the roving teams last Sunday to knock on the doors and invite people to do the test for COVID-19 and explain its importance. He stressed that it is not possible to compel people to do this, but we have received a wonderful response from the people of the region in which we have toured.
Mr. Haweil say that the Ministry of Health has provided many test centres.
He emphasized that the people’s commitment to the instructions to stay at home and not leave, except for reasons that were identified, is encouraging. The instructions were, to leave home just for reasons Such as shopping for food and necessities, providing care or exercise, or going to school or to work, if it is not possible to work from home .
Mr. Haweil says the instructions translated into many languages, did not reach at the first weeks of the start of the pandemic, but today, every person have received the information first-hand and in various languages.
He pointed out that some people still believe that this pandemic is not real, and for those, we assure them to trust that it is real and there are millions of cases in the whole world and hundreds of thousands have lost their lives because of it, and that it is necessary to pay attention to the instructions of the authorities concerned.
