As Eid al-Adha arrived, many cities in the north of Iraq have witnessed an increase in the number of cases. This has been linked to the many visitors who are going to the north from other parts of Iraq.

Mr. Nassem began his report by highlighting the situation of Coronavirus in the North of Iraq. In particular, he outlined the surge of cases in cities like Duhok in which once had one of the lowest numbers in the country.

SBS reporter also mentioned that during Eid al-Adha, many people from other parts of Iraq visited the north. This has led to more spread of the virus.

Mr. Nassem also said that the unknown source of some cases is causing great concern to people.

As hospitals are getting full, Mr. Nassem predicts that the government might make a decision to empty some other local hospitals in order to treat individuals suffering from Covid-19. Such decision, however, will impact people who suffer from other diseases
