A worker in Australia, by law is required to pay income tax. But what are its benefits for citizens.

Australia, like many countries in the world, collects income tax from worker on its soil. The Australian government uses the tax revenue to secure basic services for all Australians.

Mr. Imad Hirmiz, a translator, writer, and activist from Melbourne, said that the Australian government provides services in education and health, as well as building roads and railways, and social welfare payments, depending on the amounts collected from taxes.

Mr. Imad stressed that the decrease in tax revenue will negatively affect the services enjoyed by the citizens. For example, support for medicines in the health field, obtaining a role in performing surgery and others.

He added that we find that, Australian government used to support some types of medicine that were free , but due to an increase in population of Australia and other factors that led the Australians to pay an amount of money for their medicine. The waiting period for hospitals list has also increased.

There are also many services that will be affected by the decrease in tax revenues, such as providing public housing, roads, bridges, and others.
