Social researcher and specialist in parenting and education, Emil Gharib, said that healthy sleep is essential, as it plays an important role in a number of vital functions in the body, such as strengthening the immune system, removing toxins from the brain, reducing the risk of heart disease and others.
He said , Lack of sleeping affects the body's production of cortisol, which remains in the body as a result of stress and turns into toxins.
He stressed that there are two factors that stimulate sleep, the first is the biological clock, and the second is the secretion of the hormone melatonin, or the sleep hormone, which helps sleep sufficient hours and depth.
He said that parents especially, should teach their children to get used to going to sleep at a specific hour every day, as well as waking up in the morning.
He stressed that electronic devices negatively affect sleeping, as they stimulate the brain to wake up and affect the production of the sleep hormone. The light from these devices is blue, which stimulates cells and disturbs the biological clock.
The researcher, Emil, advises parents to accustom children to reading a book or listening to music, using dim lights, and using orange light in bedrooms that help to sleep, as well as staying away from fatty food, drinking stimulants and smoking.
The most important thing is to avoid using electronic devices one hour or more before bed.
