Activist and writer Khoshaba Solaqa said the Iraqi government was too weak to respond to the protesters' demands. What the people have done is a revolutionary uprising that changed many people's ideas and many political parties. He said the political parties' attitude was initially hesitant but now has changed to support demonstrations and condemn the government for using violence and force.
