While the Kurdistan regional government had previously decided to close schools and gathering places , the people took advantage of these days, they considered it a holiday to take out public trips and hold their parties in the open air.

This triggered the official to implement new measures to increase the public awareness of the seriousness of this  pandemic. Correspondent Naseem Sadiq says that the government quarantined all arrivals from around the world for 14 days to ensure that they were free of a virus infection such as Covid 19.
