Yonan Hozaya Center for Research and Future Studies hosted Dr. Muna Yaqu on Saturday 16 Jan 2021, to deliver a lecture via Zoom entitled "The most prominent developments in the national arena - a reading from the legal side"
Dr. Mona said that it is necessary to build bridges between the interior and the diaspora and develop them to serve our people at home and abroad.
She also referred to the issue of not focusing on our political rights only, but rather demanding our religious, cultural and other rights, which were approved by the United Nations.
The doctor added that we need to consider two important points, the first of which is the absence of coordination between institutions and the emergence of contradictions between the positions of our institutions. The second is the multiplicity of national and religious references.
Dr. Muna said it is important to realize the power and influence of the media, which has become a weapon used by countries in their conflicts.
She added that our use of the social media gave others unpleasant impression about us.
Regarding the role of the parties, she said parties have duties in the definition, political and legal education, increasing the Prospects of knowledge of the people, especially new generation.
Dr Muna stated that communication between the people and their representatives in the government and parliament is not satisfactory, because access to parliament is a means to provide services and prove oneself.
She suggested important issues that everyone should work on, which is to establish the quota system in the constitution, whether in the center or in the Kurdistan region. And the need to change the election law to make the quota entitled to have its representatives elected by our people.
It also suggested forming a committee at home and abroad to communicate with each other and for more coordination.
