The only Christian ministry in Iraq, is it feasible?

Last Saturday, June 6, 2020, the new Iraqi Prime Minister completed his cabinet with the approval of the Iraqi Parliament for the nominated names. The Ministry of Immigration and Displaced was part of the Christian quota, and Ms. Evan Jabro, a biology teacher, took over. So would the Christians and the displaced in Iraq benefit from it?

The journalist, one of the supervisors of the Ankawa .com Mr. Eskander BeQasha, said that since the fall of the former regime in Iraq in 2003, the authorities have been giving the ministry a quota allocated to Christians. Governments followed the same path, not belief, but only to improve their image.

Mr. BeQasha added that the Christian ministers affiliated with our people who took over the ministries could not offer a job that our people could remember.

On his part, he stressed that he does not know the reasons of giving the Ministry of Immigration and Displacement for a Christian, and he cannot provide a solution to the problem of the displaced. The ministers were chosen from outside our home, whether from Shiite parties or Kurdish parties.

He said that these ministries given to us have no effect on Iraqi politics. It does not even provide any services to our people. Even the worst is when a new government is formed. The conflict between the parties and the people of our nation rages on, and this offends us and our national reputation. Therefore, I call for abandoning it, because we must reject the principle of establishing the government on a sectarian and quota system.

We, the indigenous people of the country, do not want to be on the sidelines. Rather, we should be on an equal footing with the other Iraqis in the country.
