"We have no choice in Iraq and Syria but to work with other Christian groups as Christians and not as Assyrian Chaldean Syriac, in order to maintain our existence" Mr Aprim Shapira told SBS Radio. He stressed that all the extremist groups are fighting under religious banners. Mr Shapira also spoke about approximately 9000 Assyrian refugees from Syria residing in Beirut and the great help provided to them by the Assyrian Church of the East.
