The pandemic impacted increasing unemployment rate in Kurdistan, especially in the tourism and event halls sectors.

The officials in charge in tourism sector said the depletion of the sector amounted to four billion Iraqi dinars and caused unemployment of nearly ten thousand workers. And many travel and tourism companies closed their doors.

In his report from northern Iraq, Mr. Naseem Sadiq said that although the government has eased restrictions on opening event halls, the number of permissible numbers for each hall has been limited to half of its real capacity, and concerts are restricted where there is no music, no dance, with implementing social distancing measures.
