Mar Meelis Zaia, Metropolitan of the Assyrian Church of the east, Dioceses of Australia, New Zealand and Lebanon said people in some Parts of the world believe that religion and faith stand in the way of man's freedom, and forgets that religion is a moral system of life. The bishop added that we focus on appearances and the rule of commercialism in our celebration of Christmas, angering God. We must remember that Christ himself was a poor and immigrant, so this festival is an occasion to extend a helping hand to the poor, the needy, and the oppressed. This will be the real festive season’s celebration.
