On Monday, 3 July, 2023, the funeral service for the late Mariam Khamis took place at St Zaia Cathedral in Sydney. Long-time friend and an active community member, June Jako, spoke to SBS Assyrian and shared memories of Ms Khamis. She described her as a community servant, emphasising her genuine belief in assisting others in any capacity.
