On September 17, 2020, Yonan Hozaya Centre for future studies announced six winners of the Research Award, affirming that the participating research was of a high standard and that the efforts exerted in it were great. The winners were Dr. Etlal Salim Hanna, Dr. Basim Eliya Habel, Nathar Annay, Mikhael Benjamin, Dr. Parwin Badry and Khalis Ayshoa.

A member of the Center’s Executive Office, Professor Moshi Geso, who read the statement in English, said that the subject of the award was one of the important and difficult current issues . He added that this could be one of the reasons for the lack of broad participation. He said that we have many researchers from among our people who study history, language, etc., but we lack real-time studies that investigate the future.

Professor Geso said the center considers the subject of the award should be the stability of our people in the Nineveh Plain due to the exposure of the region to tragic events, persecution and displacement of our people from it by force, which led to the area being empty of its residents. Therefore, scientific researches on region’s people problems may provide a basis for our people to return, settle and live with dignity in their homeland.

Professor Geso added that the importance of the competition comes in to encourage scientific studies of today's issues to find solutions for a better future, Especially for the younger generation who are happy with the development of time and life in general. He stressed the need to encourage them to enter this scientific path to study the affairs of their people.

He concluded by saying that the scientific path is the only one capable of studying the future of our nation and tracking the changes taking place in the world.
