Oliver Slewa speaks about the World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, although it is observed annually on 15 June, but events are held throughout the month of June. He says the aim is to raise awareness of the neglect, mistreatment and exploitation experienced by older people around the world. The day serves as an opportunity to promote dignity, respect and the rights of seniors while encouraging communities to recognise and address the various forms of elder abuse, including physical, emotional, financial, and social abuse.
