In the Ardales Cave near the seaside town of Malaga, scientists are exploring the "artistic past" of humanity

Scientists say a collection of prehistoric cave paintings in southern Spain shows Neanderthals developed a form of cave art more than 20,000 years before the arrival of modern humans in Europe.

The cave art was created about 65,000 years ago by Neanderthals and used pigments that couldn't be found inside the cave.
