Politicians and aid groups have gathered in Canberra to discuss how to combat the spread of tuberculosis or TB.
TB is a major killer in Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, and the recent infection of a Queensland woman has prompted fears it could spread through the Torres Strait Islands.
Indonesian woman Lusiana Aprilawati is a survivor of tuberculosis.
Now she has visited Canberra for the launch of the Australian TB Caucus, a group of parliamentarians committed to supporting research into new medical treatments for TB.
In Ms Aprilawati's home country, there are one million new cases every year.
