The COVID-19 pandemic and the severe restrictions imposed by health authorities and state governments in Australia have had a strong negative impact on everyone, including school children.

Eighteen months after the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, schools for nearly 77 million students worldwide remain completely closed, according to a UNICEF analysis.

A total of 131 million students in 11 countries missed more than three-quarters of their attendance.

Distance learning not only causes children to lag behind in their education, but also subjects many of them to social isolation and increased anxiety.

How do students in Australia accept and respond to restrictions?

Interview with Alexander Bogeff, a 16-year-old student in grade ten.
