After the elections, Russian media announced solemnly, "Sofia is ours!"

The Central Election Commission announced the results of the presidential elections in Bulgaria.

2,063,032 or 59.37% of the voters voted for the Socialists backed Rumen Radev.

The presidential candidate Tsetska Tsacheva, backed by the ruling party GERB, received 1,256,485 or 36.16% of the votes.

A total of 155,411 voters chose the option I do not support anyone.

Bulgarian Parliament accepted the resignation of the government led by Prime Minister Boyko Borisov with 218 deputies who voted "for" and no one "against".

Following the results of the presidential elections, Borisov deposited his resignation.

Current President, Rosen Plevneliev, will start consultations with the parties represented in Parliament after MPs accepted the resignation of the Borisov Cabinet.

The head of state will hold separate talks with the representatives of the different parties in an attempt to prevent the government crisis from turning into a parliamentary one.
