The Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) announced its decision not to continue the negotiations with the Alternative for Bulgarian Revival (ABV) party on the establishment of a joint coalition for the forthcoming presidential elections.
With its decision the Bulgarian Socialist Party handed the presidential elections over to the mandate-holder Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria, Ivaylo Kalfin, Deputy Chairperson of ABV party, said at a press conference According to Ivaylo Kalfin, ABV will offer an alternative. The candidate should not be a victim of political party interests. The ABV leadership will hold the necessary consultations and will announce soon who is going to run at the forthcoming presidential elections.
This is another blow up of the attempts BSP and ABV to join forces in the forthcoming presidential elections.
