This year the Bulgarian program on SBS radio marks its 40th birthday. Bulgarian tennis star Grigor Dimitrov won Masters 1000 in Cincinnati after defeating Nick Kyrgios in the final.
The Bulgarian did not lose a set on the way to the title, defeating Feliciano Lopez, Juan Martin Del Potro, Yuichi Sugita and John Isner.During the Australian Open this year after a dramatic five-set match, Grigor lost to Rafael Nadal, but his play was superb.In a similar style in the same tournament but in 2014, Grigor also lost to Nadal in a 4-set game that lasted more than three and a half hours.In two exclusive interviews for the Bulgarian program on SBS radio before and after the match with Nadal in January 2014, Grigor shared his satisfaction with his success and hoped for even greater successes in the future. His coach at that time, Roger Rasheed, spoke candidly about Grigors good qualities and the problems that could hamper his career.
