Last year six thousand Australian schoolies headed to Bali

The tradition of 'schoolies' follows the final exams of Year 12 school leavers who participate in organised holidays in Australia and abroad.

But a Christian minister who was present at the execution of Bali Nine ring-leader Myuran Sukamaran is calling for Australian "schoolies" to be screened and educated before being permitted to visit Bali.

There are also allegations that crime syndicates are directly targeting the teens in drug "stings."

Reverend Christie Buckingham starts most Sundays with prayer and song, but recently it was accompanied by a call for would-be teenage travellers to be vetted before heading visiting Bali.
