An interest in computers began when his mother left some of her programming textbooks in his room

As the new academic year begins, some students are starting university below the usual age of 18.

While his peers were busy with their school curriculum, sports and friends, one Melbourne teenager was busy running two IT companies after school.

He's now begun his studies at RMIT University.

It's not unusual for kids to play computer games after school but for this teenager, he's the creator of the game.

Sixteen-year-old Kaushal Ottem is a student by day and IT entrepreneur by night.
