No matter how serious the situation may seem it’s a storm in a tea-cup

After several hours of debate the National Assembly approved the changes in the composition of ministers in the cabinet, put forward by PM Boyko Borissov.

The MPs approved Mladen Marinov for Minister of the Interior, Rosen Zhelyazkov for Minister of Transport and Petya Avramova for Minister of Regional Development and Public Works.

They are taking over the ministerial posts from Valentin Radev, Ivaylo Moskovski and Nikolay Nankov, who submitted their resignations to Boyko Borissov over the severe road accident near Svoge on 25 August which cost the lives of 17.

During the debates in parliament the opposition levelled a series of criticisms against the GERB-United Patriots coalition.

The Bulgarian Socialist Party, BSP, and the Movement for Rights and Freedoms, DPS, stated that replacing the three cabinet ministers will not bring about the change necessary, and called for the resignation of the government and for early elections.
