23 days of anti-government protests in Bulgaria

Thousands of protesters have again taken to the streets in Bulgaria to protest alleged government corruption, with many calling for the resignation of Prime Minister Boïko Borissov, his centre-right government and the chief prosecutor.

Anti-government protests in Bulgaria have been going on for more than three weeks, however those in power have no plans to back down.

Will the change of ministers and the adopted package of economic measures reduce the dissatisfaction?

Thirteen years after joining the European Union, Bulgaria remains the bloc's poorest member. According to the anti-corruption group Transparency International, it is also the most graft-ridden of the 27 member states.
