The executive order bans migration from Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Yemen and Syria

The Prime Minister has confirmed Australian dual nationals will be exempt from recently announced restrictions on immigration to the United States.

It comes as Malcolm Turnbull faces continued criticism for refusing to condemn the policy which limits migration and refugee resettlement in the US from seven Muslim-majority countries.

The executive order signed by United States President Donald Trump has suspended migration and refugee resettlement of citizens of seven countries in the Middle East and Africa.

The federal government has now confirmed - like Britain and Canada - it has secured an exemption for Australian dual-nationals wishing to travel to America.
